The Ten Principles

Four pillars that every participant commits to — from a state bank to a family-run trading company.

All Ten Principles in full, grouped by pillar.

    Home/About

    About the Network

A regional network of the UN Global Compact, uniting business across Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

    Who we are

Global Compact Network Central Asia: the Local Network of the UN Global Compact

Companies across Central Asia are growing fast, trading further and facing new expectations from investors, buyers and regulators. We help them meet those expectations with credible action.

As the official Local Network of the UN Global Compact — the UN Secretary-General's initiative on corporate sustainability — we bring together businesses, business associations, universities and civil society. We run peer learning, accelerator programmes and reporting support, and we connect regional business to the UN system and to global platforms.

    Executive Director: Dinara Seijaparova

About the United Nations Global Compact

As a special initiative of the UN Secretary-General, the United Nations Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals.

    Regional Footprint

    One network, five countries

154 companies participate in the network across five countries. Company participation varies widely by market — from established banking-sector cohorts to markets just beginning to engage. Together they form one network within a global initiative of more than 25,000 participants.

    Strategy 2026–2030 and our work

Adopted January 2026 in Almaty. Five years remain until 2030 — the region's last real window to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals.

    Vision

To create a powerful regional institution in Central Asia that unites business, government and society around implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and integrates the region into the global agenda of the future.

    Our Ambitions

To become a leading platform for responsible business — transforming the region's companies into a unified movement that fosters investment attractiveness, ensures sustainable economic growth, and cements Central Asia's international recognition as a dynamic and promising region.

17 SDG Ambassadors of Central Asia

Early examples include Dimash Kudaibergen, Gennady Golovkin and Zhansaya Abdumalik (Kazakhstan), Yulduz Usmonova (Uzbekistan), Aichurek Imanalieva and Azim Isabekov (Kyrgyzstan), Parvina Sharipova and Impact Hub Dushanbe (Tajikistan), and Durdy Bayramov and Gulnara Taizhanova (Turkmenistan).
